It all began with a quiet evening under the lemon tree in my front yard. A small ringtail possum would appear almost every night, sitting among the branches, waiting for me to come home from work. There was something magical about that tiny creature — the way it moved softly under the streetlight, with calm eyes and gentle curiosity.
That little visitor became my inspiration. Beneath the lemon tree and beside the old power pole, I created the very first sketch of OZZ POSSUM — a character born from that ordinary yet shining moment.
One afternoon in mid-October, we met again — but this time, it was a farewell. He was lying quietly in a small flower bed by the roadside, his tiny body curled up, as if sleeping. He had left this world too soon.
We were heartbroken. But there were two ways to remember him. We captured a short video of his final moment, and I — Yan — began reworking the design, stroke by stroke, to make it look closer to him. That became the second version of OZZ POSSUM. Through this design, the life of that small, gentle possum continues — not in the garden or the power lines, but in the digital space, where his spirit lives on.
